Animation Animation is responsible for producing our Autodesk Visualization Award Submission each year. They use Autodesk's stunning 3DSMax software to create beautiful, realistic animations to convey one of the aspects of FIRST. Click here to view past animations. | CodeCode is responsible for programming the robot each year by utilizing software such as MPLAB, IFI Loader, and WPILib (software library). Their coding is done in C and Assembly languages and controls all of the actions of the robot. It is also the job of the Code team to develop code to run the robot during autonomous. Mentored by: John Byrne, Chris Burger, Bruce Van Eyck, Steve LeBlanc, Suzanne Larson, Rich Coe | Course and CrateCourse is the team that builds the playing field for our Mini-Regional each year. This field is also used by Team 537 for practicing and driver trials, as a practice field at the Wisconsin Regional, and at the "On the Waterfront" off-season competition in Rockford, IL.
Crate is responsible for packaging and preparing our robot for Ship Day. The robot is then transported to our regionals where it is the Crate team that gets to unpack the robot and prepare our pit. Mentored by: Don Kerber, Bruce Van Eyck | ElectricalElectrical is responsible for wiring the robot, designing the controls, and making sure all the sensors work. They produce and use the hardware needed for the Code team's software to run correctly. Mentored by: John Byrne, Steve Michalski, Taylor Roehr | MarketingMarketing is responsible for attaining funds that are needed for build season, organizing fund raisers, obtaining prizes for our annual raffle, and spreading the message of FIRST throughout the community. Mentored by: Lori Hinytz, Kari Woods, Katie Speckin, Loralee Hall, Niki Byrne | MechanicalMechanical is responsible for building our robot each year. They attain material, build and design parts, and construct those parts into a finished robot. Mechanical is further broken down into functional CDTs (Component Design Teams).
DrivetrainDrivetrain is responsible for designing and building the chassis and drivetrain of the robot.
Special Functions 1 & 2Both special functions teams are responsible for designing and constructing our "special functions" which include arms, shooters, stiff arms, collectors, etc...
Inventor
